2. Compress the valve spring by hand using valve VALVE INSPECTION

4. Slowly release valve spring pressure and remove the
compressor adapter.
5. Remove the valve retainer r, valve spring t, valve
stem seal y and valve spring seat u. Discard the
valve seal.
4. Inspect split keeper groove for wear or flaring in the

Replace valve seals whenever cylinder head is
disassembled. Hardened, cracked or worn seals will NOTE
cause excessive oil consumption. The valves can be re-faced or end ground, if necessary.
