DRIVE BELT

BELT REMOVAL 4. Remove outer clutch cover to access the drive belt.

NOTE
Removal of left rear wheel or left rear shock is NOT
necessary for belt replacement.

1. Remove left rear fender (see Rear Fender, page
10.12 in the Body / Frame chapter).
2. Loosen two worm clamps q and remove clutch
intake duct w.

5. Mark the drive belt direction of rotation so that it can
be installed in the same direction.
6. Insert clutch spreader tool into the driven clutch and
turn the tool clockwise to open the sheaves on the
driven clutch.

3. Remove nine screws e retaining outer clutch cover.

NOTE
The driven clutch spreader tool is included with the
vehicle’s tool kit

7. Walk the belt out of the driven and drive clutch.
Remove the belt from the vehicle.
