BRAKE SYSTEM
MASTER CYLINDER 4. Loosen the brake line banjo bolt and brake switch r
and allow fluid to drain.
MASTER CYLINDER REMOVAL
1. Locate the master cylinder q above the left front tire
in the wheel well area.
NOTE
Dispose of fluid properly. Do not re-use.
2. Remove the clip w from the clevis pin e that
attaches the master cylinder to the brake pedal lever. 5. Remove the two mounting fasteners t that secure
the master cylinder to the frame.
MASTER CYLINDER INSTALLATION
1. Install the two master cylinder mounting fasteners.
Torque fasteners to specification.
TORQUE
Master Cylinder Fasteners:
17 ft-lbs (23 Nm)
2. Install new brake banjo sealing washers when
installing brake lines to master cylinder. Torque banjo
bolt and brake switch to specification.
TORQUE
3. Place a container to catch brake fluid under the Banjo Bolt / Brake Switch:
master cylinder brake lines.
15 ft-lbs (20 Nm)
CAUTION
3. Install the clevis pin and clip to retain the brake pedal
Brake fluid will damage finished surfaces. Do not allow to the master cylinder.

4. Fill the master cylinder reservoir to the MAX level.
NOTE 5. Check brake pedal free-play. Brake pedal free-play
should not exceed specification.
Make note of front and rear brake line locations to
master cylinder. Brake Pedal Free-play:
.090″ (2.28 mm)
6. Bleed the brake system. Refer to BRAKE
BLEEDING / FLUID CHANGE, page 9.5.
