BRAKE SYSTEM

7. Measure bore size and compare to specifications. BRAKE PAD INSPECTION
Replace if damaged or worn beyond service limit. Measure the thickness of the pad material and backing
plate with a caliper. Replace pads if worn beyond the

service limit.
Front Caliper Piston Bore I.D.:
Large Bore: 1.505″ (38.23 mm)
Small Bore: 1.195″ (30.35 mm)

8. Inspect piston for nicks, scratches, pitting or wear.
9. Measure piston diameter and replace if damaged or
worn beyond service limit.

MEASUREMENT
Brake Pad Thickness:
.296 ± .007″(7.53 ± .19 mm)
Service Limit:
.180″ (4.6 mm)

MEASUREMENT
Front Caliper Piston O.D.:
Large: 1.50″ (38.1 mm)
Small: 1.19″ (30.226 mm)

10.Inspect the brake disc and pads as outlined in this
chapter.
