STEERING / SUSPENSION

TORQUE LOWER STEERING SHAFT
Front Bumper Cover Mounting Fasteners: INSTALLATION
7 ft-lbs (10 Nm) 1. Install the lower steering shaft onto the gear box and
align the marks made during step 2 of the “Lower
Steering Shaft Removal (EPS Models)” procedure.
TORQUE
2. Install the pinch bolt that retains the lower steering
Wheel Nuts:
120 ft-lbs (163 Nm) shaft to the steering rack assembly and torque to
specification.
TORQUE
Lower Steering Shaft Pinch Bolt:
50 ft-lb (68 Nm)

3. Install the power steering unit and reassemble the
vehicle (see Power Steering Unit Installation page
9.11).

4. Vehicles equipped with Dynamix suspension having a
steering shaft, EPS unit, steering rack, or tie rod
removed/adjusted/disconnected MUST have Steering
Angle Sensor Centering procedure performed once
everything is reinstalled. Refer to Steering Angle
Sensor Centering (Dynamix) page 12.18.

POWER STEERING UNIT INSTALLATION
1. If the power steering unit q was removed from the
mount bracket w, reinstall it prior to vehicle
installation. Torque the mounting bolts e to
specification.

TORQUE
Power Steering Mounting Bolts:
30 ft-lb (41 Nm)
