TORQUE 16.Align the holes on the master cylinder rod and brake
pedal. Install pin u and circlip i as shown.
Lower Steering Shaft to EPS Unit Pinch Bolt:
25 ft-lbs (34 Nm)

17.Install dash bracket, steering support bracket, and
upper steering assembly. Install upper steering shaft
onto EPS unit. Torque fasteners to specification.
IMPORTANT
TORQUE
To ensure the steering shaft splines are fully engaged Dash Bracket/Steering Support Bracket Mounting
to the EPS unit, inspect the pinch-point opening using a Fasteners
no-go gauge of 0.49” width. The gauge must not pass
between the pinch point in the steering shaft. If the 14 ft-lbs (19 Nm)
steering shaft fails this test, loosen pinch bolt, re-adjust Upper Steering Shaft Pinch Bolt:
steering shaft, re-torque pinch bolt, and repeat 25 ft-lbs (34 Nm)
inspection.

Power Steering Unit Mount Bracket Nuts:
18 ft-lb (24 Nm)
20.Install new panduit straps retaining the electrical
harness to the steering assembly and main floor.
21.install the front upper and lower fenders. Torque
fasteners to specification.
