FUEL SYSTEM

FUEL TANK REMOVAL 5. While holding a shop towel over the fuel line
connectors, disconnect the fuel supply line r and
NOTE vent line t from the fuel tank. Remove fuel tank from
the vehicle.
Syphon as much fuel from the tank as possible before
attempting to remove it from the vehicle.

WARNING
Always wear safety goggles when working with high
pressure or flammable fluids. Failure to do so could
result in serious injury or complications.

1. Remove the rocker panels, console and floor (see
Rocker Panels, Console, and Floor Removal, page
10.18 in the Body/Frame chapter). 4
2. Remove seven screws q and remove the lower rear
close-off panel w.

NOTE

A small amount of fuel may come out of the fuel lines or
pump fitting. Properly drain fuel into a suitable
container.

3. Remove two fasteners e retaining the fuel tank to the
frame.

4. Disconnect fuel pump electrical harness.
