7. Apply Loctite 271 (Red) to the outer circumference 12. Install the fastener retaining the upper portion of the

Do not allow any of the Loctite to get in the bearing. 7 ft-lbs (10 Nm)
8. Reinstall the upper bushing. 13. Be sure the front wheels are facing straight forward.
Remove the steering wheel and align as needed.
9. Install the steering wheel and hand tighten the nut.
Torque the steering wheel nut to specification.
10. Reinstall the steering shaft assembly in the vehicle.
Install the lower portion of the steering shaft onto the TORQUE
steering gear box assembly. Torque the lower pinch Steering Wheel Nut:
bolt to specification.
65 ft-lbs (88 Nm)
TORQUE
14. Wipe the pivot tube clean of any excess Loctite. ®
Lower Pinch Bolt:
36 ft-lb (48 Nm) 15. Install steering wheel cap and field test steering
operation.
11. Install the two fasteners that retain the pivot tube.
Torque fasteners to specification.

TORQUE
Pivot Tube Fasteners:
23 ft-lb (31 Nm)
