FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR

OPERATION OVERVIEW
The fuel pressure sensor is mounted in-line in the fuel
line assembly. The sensor measures fuel pressure and
the data is read by the ECU. The ECU commands the
fuel pump control module, which powers the fuel pump to
the desired fuel pressure based on engine RPM and
load.

FUEL PRESSURE REGULATION
Fuel pressure is controlled both mechanically and
electronically. At Key On Engine Off, and when the
engine is under boost the fuel pressure is controlled by a
75 psi regulator mounted in the fuel pump. At idle and
low RPM/load operation the fuel pressure is
electronically reduced and can be as low as 43.5 psi.
