ENGINE / COOLING SYSTEM
23. Connect the CPS sensor to the vehicle wiring 34. Follow the “Cooling System Bleeding Procedure” as
harness and install the strain relief. outlined in this chapter. (SeeCooling System
Bleeding Procedure - 570, page 3.119)
35. Start engine and check for any oil or coolant leaks.
36. Check the engine oil level (see Engine Oil Level -
570, page 2.19).
37. Refer customer to “Engine Break-In Period, page
3.138” upon returning vehicle to customer.
38. Verify proper operation before delivery to customer.

24. Install the CPS and mounting bolt into the stator
cover and torque to specification. (if removed)
TORQUE
Crankshaft Position Sensor (CPS) Fastener:
9 ft-lbs (12 Nm)
25. Connect the stator wire connector and verify that it is
secure to the front engine mount bracket.
26. Install the inner clutch cover as outlined in chapter 6.
27. Install the drive clutch, driven clutch, belt and outer
clutch cover as outlined in Chapter 6. Be sure all
hose and wire routings are correct. Torque all
fasteners to specification as outlined in Chapter 6.

28. Install the PVT inlet/exhaust ducts and the airbox
top.
29. Remove the pressure cap and fill the cooling system
through the filler neck with properly mixed anti-freeze
/ coolant.
30. Install a new oil filter. Lubricate the seal with engine
oil prior to installation (see ).
31. If the engine oil was completely drained, add
approximately 2 quarts (1.9 L) of Polaris PS-4
Synthetic Engine Oil into the crankcase.
32. Connect the (-) negative battery cable to the battery.
33. Install the fuel tank, front cab (if required) , footwells,
side panel, and seats. (See BODY, page 10.7)
NOTE
Install the right passenger footwell on touring models at
this time.
