ENGINE OIL AND FILTER CHANGE 7. Lubricate the o-ring on the new oil filter with a film of
clean engine oil. Check to make sure the o-ring is in
WARNING good condition. Tighten to specification.
Spilled oil and flammable cleaning products left on TORQUE
engine components or in the engine area may pose a
fire hazard. Use shop rags to clean any spilled oil. If Oil Filter:
needed, use a non-flammable solvent on the rag to aid Turn by hand until filter O-ring contacts sealing 2
the cleaning process. Do not use any device such as surface, then turn an additional 3/4 turn.
pressurized water or air as this may disperse the oil
onto engine components and could pose a fire hazard.
8. Inspect the sealing washer on the drain plug for burrs
or nicks. Replace the washer if it is damaged.
Always change engine oil and filter at the intervals
outlined in the Periodic Maintenance Chart. 9. Reinstall the engine crankcase drain plug. Torque
drain plug to specification.
1. Position vehicle on a level surface and place
transmission in PARK. TORQUE
Engine Oil Drain Plug:
2. Allow engine to cool down before draining oil.
12 ft-lbs (16 Nm)
3. Place a drain pan under the engine crankcase and
remove the drain plug q.
10.Remove the cargo box. Add engine oil through the oil
fill cap w located on top of the engine valve cover.
4. Access the oil filter through the driver’s side rear
wheel well.
11. Fill the engine to the recommended specification.
NOTICE
FLUID CAPACITY
The engine should be off for at least 2 minutes prior to
removing the oil filter. Recommended Engine Oil:
PS-4 (PN 2876244)
Ambient Temp Range: -35° F to 100° F
5. Place shop rags under the filter to catch any spilled oil
during removal. Using the Oil Filter Wrench, turn the PS-4 Extreme Duty (PN 2878920)
oil filter counter-clockwise to remove it. Tip the open
end of the oil filter up to minimize oil spill. Ensure all Ambient Temp Range: 0° F to 120° F
shop rags are removed after cleaning up any spilled
oil. Capacity:2.75 qt (2.6 L)
Oil Filter Wrench: PU-50105 (2.5″/64 mm)
12.Start engine and allow it to idle for 30 seconds.
6. Clean the filter sealing surface on the engine 13.Stop the engine and inspect for oil leaks. Wait at least
crankcase with a clean rag and ensure the original oil 15 seconds before removing the oil dipstick.
