ENGINE / COOLING SYSTEM
INSTALLATION THERMOSTAT REPLACEMENT
1. Install the fan and radiator as an assembly. 1. Remove the cargo box. See Cargo Box Removal
page 11.20.
2. Connect fan harness.
2. Remove the intake manifold. See Charge Air Cooler
3. Install two fasteners retaining fan assembly. Torque Removal page 3.32.
fasteners to specification.
3. Place a drain pan under the engine below the
TORQUE thermostat housing.
Fan Assembly Mounting Fasteners:
4. Remove the two fasteners t and y retaining the
9 ft-lbs (12 Nm) thermostat cover.

4. Connect the two coolant hoses and one vent line
going to the radiator.
5. Install the charge air radiator into the chassis.
6. Install the two large hoses going to the charge air
radiator and the small vent hose.
7. Install the radiator shroud and install six push pins.
8. Install voltage regulator bracket and voltage
regulators as an assembly. Install two fasteners and
torque to specification.
TORQUE
Voltage Regulator Bracket Fasteners:
7 ft-lbs (10 Nm)
5. Remove the thermostat cover and hose to access the
thermostat u. Pull the thermostat up to remove it
9. Connect four voltage regulator harness connectors from the housing.
(two per voltage regulator).
10.Install front fascia.
TORQUE
Front Fascia Fasteners:
7 ft-lbs (10 Nm)
11. Fill the cooling system. Properly bleed both the
engine cooling system as well as the charge air
cooling system. See Cooling System Bleeding page
2.38.
6. Install new thermostat into the housing.
CAUTION
Installing the thermostat upside down will damage the
thermostat and lead to engine overheating.
