5. Measure each bearing journal in two locations, 90 CRANKSHAFT REMOVAL / INSPECTION
degrees apart. Replace balance shaft if either journal
is worn below the service limit specification. If worn 1. Perform Balance Shaft Removal / Inspection page

3. Loosen, remove and discard the four connecting rod

MEASUREMENT
Balance Shaft Diameter (MAG & PTO):
1.4939 - 1.4946" (37.946 - 37.962 mm)
Service Limit: 1.4921" (37.900 mm)
4. Carefully lift the crankshaft out of the crankcase.

5. Remove the cam chain e, PTO main seal r and oil
pump drive chain t from the crankshaft.
