                                                                          Batteries produce explosive gases. Keep sparks, flame,

                                                                                     Keep out of reach of children.

                                                                         1. Check battery voltage with a volt/ohm meter. A fully
                                                                             charged battery should be 12.8 V or higher.
                                                                         2. If the voltage is below 12.6 V, the battery will need to
                                                                             be recharged (see Chapter 11 – Charging Procedure
                                                                             , page 11.25).
                                                                             To service a Maintenance Free battery:
                                                                         3. Remove battery from the vehicle (see Battery
                                                                             Removal, page 2.40).
                                                                         4. Test battery with a voltage meter or load tester to
                                                                             determine battery condition. This will determine the
                                                                             length of time required to charge the battery to full
                                                                             capacity. Refer to OCV table (see OCV - Open   11
                                                                             Circuit Voltage Test, page 11.24).
                                                                         5. Charge the battery as recommended (see –
                                                                             Charging Procedure , page 11.25).
