TRANSMISSION

3. The vent line routes toward the driver’s side, attaches TRANSMISSION DISASSEMBLY
to the rear vertical support tube with a hinge clip r
and terminates into the support tube using a NOTICE
termination fitting t. Refer to the exploded view at the end of this chapter as
a reference.

1. Place transmission in high gear.
2. Drain and properly dispose of transmission fluid.
3. Remove bell crank nut q and bell crank w.

4. Remove E-clip e retaining the spring washer, washer
and gear selector switch r.
5. Remove sector cover bolts t and remove the cover. 7

6. Remove detent spring, detent pawl and detent star.
Note the master spline on the detent star and the shift
shaft.
