INSTALLATION BALL JOINT SERVICE PREPARATION
1. Install the stabilizer bar links onto the stabilizer bar. NOTICE
TORQUE Do not reuse a ball joint if it has been removed. If
removed, it must be replaced. Use this removal
Stabilizer Bar Link Fastener: procedure only when replacing the ball joint.
70 ft-lbs (95 Nm)
1. Properly lift and support the vehicle by the frame.
2. Install the stabilizer bar onto the chassis. Install two 2. Remove the appropriate front wheel.

discard the two front brake caliper mounting bolts
and remove the caliper from the brake disc (see
Caliper Removal page in the Brake System
Chapter).
4. Remove and discard the upper ball joint pinch bolt.
5. If necessary, remove the lower front shock fastener
from the A-arm.
6. Remove the upper A-Arm to frame mounting bolts
and remove the A-arm from the chassis.
7. To service the lower ball joint: Remove and
discard the lower ball joint pinch bolt.
8. Remove both A-arm to frame mounting bolts and
remove the A-arm from the chassis.
TORQUE
Stabilizer Bar Mounting Bracket Fasteners: BALL JOINT REMOVAL
44 ft-lbs (60 Nm)
1. Remove the retaining ring q from the ball joint w.
3. Install two lower bracket fasteners. Torque fasteners
to specification.
TORQUE
Stabilizer Bar Mounting Bracket Fasteners:
44 ft-lbs (60 Nm)
4. Secure the stabilizer bar link to the upper A-arms.
TORQUE
Stabilizer Bar Link Fastener:
74 ft-lbs (100 Nm)
2. Place a proper sized driver on the ball joint and place
the A-arm in a press.
3. Carefully press the ball joint out of the A-arm and
discard the ball joint.
