4. Measure the projected width of the drive belt. Use a
straight edge across the top of the belt to provide a

If creeping or difficult shifting is experienced at idle, MEASUREMENT

1. Remove the outer clutch cover. Refer to Disassembly,
page 5.16. 5. Remove the driven clutch bolt q, thrust washer w,
and offset washer(s) e.
2. Inspect the drive belt to determine if the belt is riding
on the stationary or movable sheave. The belt should
be centered between the sheaves.
IMPORTANT
Ensure the inner and outer tapers are clean and free of
chips or burrs.
