STEERING / SUSPENSION

UPPER A-ARM REMOVAL / INSTALLATION
(SP)

1. Properly lift and support the vehicle by the frame.
2. Remove the appropriate front wheel.
3. Remove the shock assembly.

7. Remove the upper a-arm mounting fasteners at the
frame.

4. If removing both A-Arms, remove the brake caliper.

NOTE
Tie the caliper to the vehicle using a tie strap or
mechanics wire. DO NOTstress on the brake line.

5. Remove the cotter pin retaining the castle nut on the
upper ball joint.
6. Remove the castle nut and washer.

8. Examine a-arm bushings and pivot shafts. Replace if 8
worn and discard the hardware.

Separate the upper ball joint from the bearing carrier
using PA-51600.
