DRIVE BELT

BELT REMOVAL 4. Non-EBS Models: Loosen the driven clutch
retaining bolt to help spread the clutch sheaves.
NOTE
Inspect the entire clutch outlet duct when replacing a
drive belt. Remove any debris found in the outlet duct.

5. EBS Models: Insert clutch spreader tool (2877408) 5
into the driven clutch as shown.

1. Remove the eight screws q that retain the outer
clutch cover.

Rotate tool towards the clutch to open the sheaves.

2. Maneuver the outer clutch cover outward to access
the drive belt.
3. If reusing the drive belt, mark the belt direction of
rotation so that it can be installed in the same
direction.

6. Remove the belt from the drive and driven clutches.
