SPIDER REMOVAL NOTE
1. Install clutch in holding fixture and loosen the spider The rubber side of the button is positioned toward the

PN 2871358-A 1. Turn roller with your finger. If you notice resistance,

Moveable Sheave Bushing Inspection
2. Inspect the Teflon™ coating on the moveable sheave
bushing.

2. Inspect to see if roller and bushing are separating.
Bushing must fit tightly in roller.
3. Use the Roller Pin Tool to replace rollers and pins as
necessary.

Roller Pin Tool: 2870910
Moveable Sheave Bushing Inspection:
Replace the cover bushing if more brass than Teflon is NOTE
visible on the bushing. Refer to bushing replacement in
this chapter. Take care not to damage roller bushing or bearing
surface of the new pin during installation.

ROLLER, PIN, AND THRUST WASHER
INSPECTION
Inspect all rollers, bushings and roller pins by pulling a
flat metal rod across the roller.
