8. Look for any signs of foreign object damage or 11. Use an angled feeler gauge to inspect the clearance

and check the compressor housing profile for signs of and move the drain tube as needed to ensure there is
contact between the housing and wheel. a minimum clearance of 0.010″ (.254 mm).
IMPORTANT
If you are not able to achieve the minimum clearance,
the turbocharger assembly will need to be replaced.
12.Inspect turbine housing profile and turbine housing
discharge cavity / pipe for signs of any oil residue. 3
NOTICE
If compressor wheel damage is observed, inspect
intake pipe and associated components for potential
debris. Inspect for places where unfiltered air may be
let into the intake tract. Make note of any possible
sources of damaging material.
9. With the use of a flashlight, inspect the turbine wheel
e and inner turbine housing r on the opposite side
of the turbocharger.
NOTICE
If excessive oil residue is seen in the turbine housing
discharge or exhaust components, remove
turbocharger and perform further inspection.
10.Look for any signs of contact between the turbine
wheel and the turbine housing profile. Check for any
damage or deformation of the turbine exducer blades.
